Bhagirathi Ice Factory

Our place is located at Plot No.3 in Noor Nagar, right off Lisari Road. It’s an old-school ice factory, nothing too modern or flashy about it. We’ve got the big machinery running most of the time to keep up with the local demand for blocks. It can get quite loud inside the shed when everything is switched on. Most of the work involves moving heavy slabs and loading up the tempos that stop by early in the morning. Lisari Road is always packed with traffic, so we try to get the deliveries out before the congestion gets too bad. The floor is usually wet from the melting runoff, so we wear boots all day. It’s hard work, and the salt in the water sometimes ruins the equipment, which means we spend our weekends doing repairs. We’ve been in this spot for years. People from around the neighborhood know us as the place with the big blue gates. There are no fancy signs or anything. We just deal with the local shopkeepers and the fish vendors who need to keep their goods fresh. It’s a straightforward business. We show up early, start the compressors, and handle the orders as they come. It gets really humid in the summer months, but that's when we are busiest. We don't have a big office or a reception, just the factory floor and a small desk for the logs. We just keep our heads down and work.
