Kabi Guru Farmers Producer Company Limited

Kabi Guru is a group we started in Mathurapur, which is under the Sutahata area in East Midnapore. We operate from Tarun Manna’s house. It’s a local effort. We are just farmers who realized that working as a unit makes more sense than trying to fight the market alone. In this part of West Bengal, agriculture is what we know. The office is really just a place to keep the books straight and meet up when there is something important to decide. We don't have big marketing teams or anything like that. It is mostly just us sitting around talking about what needs to be planted or how to get the harvest to the right people. Sutahata is a busy area but Mathurapur stays pretty focused on the fields. We handle a lot of the logistical stuff that used to give us headaches when we were on our own. Tarun’s place is easy enough to find for anyone living around here. We try to be practical about everything. Farming is tough, and there are days when things don't go as planned. We just keep going, trying to help each other out with the daily tasks of running a farm business. It’s a basic setup because we’d rather spend our time and money on the land. That is how things work for us here, just plain and simple local farming work that keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
