Bahichard Chapbasan Ranasinga Food Producer Company Limited

Out in the village of Bahichard, near Tamluk, we have the Bahichard Chapbasan Ranasinga Food Producer Company Limited. It’s a long name for a simple group of us working together. Akshay Kumar Manna helps look after things here in Purba Medinipur. We mostly deal with what the local farmers grow. It could be rice, some vegetables, or whatever is in season. Since we are a producer company, it’s all about the people in the village. We don't have a big factory or anything like that. We use what we have in the village to process and pack some of the items. The roads around here aren't the best, especially when the monsoon hits and everything turns to mud. We spend a lot of time meeting under the shade of the trees to talk about the harvest. It’s a community effort, really. We aren't trying to get rich quick; we just want a fair price for what the land gives us. The paperwork is a bit of a headache because of all the rules for companies, but we manage. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to wait days for someone to come from the town to fix it. That's just how life is here. We stay busy with the planting and the harvesting cycles. It’s a rhythm we’ve known all our lives in this part of West Bengal. We don’t have fancy marketing, just the food we grow and the neighbors who help out.
