Contai-1 Krishikranti Farmers Producer Company Limited is located in East Midnapore. We are based out of Pratyashadhandighi, specifically with the help of L.T. Kshitish Ch Maiti’s family. This is a rural area where everyone knows a thing or two about farming. We are a collective of farmers who wanted to have more say in how our produce is handled. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have a fancy headquarters. Our space is functional, filled with bags of seeds, some tools, and a lot of paperwork. We spend most of our time out in the fields or meeting with other farmers to talk about the season. The ground here can be tough, and the weather isn't always on our side. We’ve had years where the water rose too high and years where it didn't rain at all. We just deal with it as it comes. We aren't corporate people. We are just local residents of Dhangaon and the surrounding areas. We speak plainly about the work and the challenges we face. It’s a lot of manual labor and checking on the crops day after day. We just want to make sure the farmers in our group can keep their heads above water. It’s an honest way to live, even if it isn't always profitable or easy. We just keep going because this is our home and our livelihood. There are no shortcuts out here.
