Baba Hatnagar Krishikranti Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are down in Egra, specifically in Rasan village, which is in East Midnapore. Anukul Santra is the one who handles the main office stuff at his place. We named ourselves after Baba Hatnagar because that is the local spirit here. We are a group of farmers who wanted to start a bit of a revolution in our own small way, which is why we used the word Krishikranti. Around here, farming is everything. We deal with the heat and the storms that come off the coast. It’s a lot of manual labor and not much rest. We aren't a polished company with a big budget. We are just a collection of neighbors who realized that if we pool our resources, we might have a better chance of surviving the tough years. We talk about real things like the cost of diesel or why the paddy isn't growing right. It’s a very practical business. We don't have any hidden agendas. We just want to work our land and make sure our kids have a future here in Rasan. If you see us, we’ll probably be talking about the weather or the next harvest. It is a simple life and we try to keep our company just as straightforward and honest as the people who started it. We are just getting by and helping each other out as we go along.
