Tanmaan Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Mustfadad, which is a village in the Parkham area of Mathura. We work mostly out of Sahab Singh’s place. Mathura for us is just about the land and the animals. We are a group of local farmers who wanted to have a little more say in how we sell our produce. Farming is a very tough way to make a living, and when you are just one person with a small plot, no one really listens. By joining together, we can help each other out and speak with one voice. We aren't a professional group with fancy offices or uniforms. We are just men and women who spend all day out in the sun and our evenings worrying about the price of grain. There is always a lot of talking between the members. Some people want to do things the old way, and some want to try something new. We just talk it out until we find a path that works for everyone. It’s not always the fastest way to do things, but it is our way. We don't have any big promises or fancy words. We just want to work our fields and hope that we can earn enough to keep our homes going. It’s a simple life and we are okay with that. We aren't looking to be rich, just stable enough to survive another year.
