Jai Ambe Traders

Our trading post is in Transport Nagar right on the Main Road. We are very near the Sabjimandi which means it gets very lively around here in the early morning hours. There are always big trucks backing up and unloading crates nearby. We have a small office that’s mostly just a desk and a few chairs for visitors. The walls have some old calendars hanging on them. We handle a lot of different goods that move through this part of the city. It’s a dusty place because of all the vehicles but we keep a pot of water and some glasses for anyone who stops by. My business partner and I have been working here since we were young men. We know all the regular drivers and the local loaders. Sometimes we spend more time talking than actual trading. The phone rings a lot but half the time it’s just someone asking for directions. We don’t have a big sign outside, just the name Jai Ambe Traders painted on the wall above the entrance. The paint is peeling a little bit from the heat. In the summer we put a wet cloth over the window to try and stay cool. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't try to make it look like something it isn't. We just show up every morning and see what the trucks have brought in for us to move.
