Sri Krishna Mushroom

We started Sri Krishna Mushroom right here at 16 Krishna Puri because we wanted to do something with our hands. It's been quite a few years now. Most days you will find us busy in the sheds. It is humid and dark in there, which is just how the mushrooms like it. Growing these isn't as easy as people think. You have to get the temperature just right or the whole batch goes bad. We spend a lot of time checking the bags and making sure everything is clean. My cousin helps out with the packing sometimes when things get busy. We don't have a big office or anything fancy, just our workspace here in the neighborhood. People stop by sometimes to ask about how we grow them. We just tell them it takes a lot of patience. Some days the crop is heavy and other days it is a bit thin. That is just how nature works I guess. We wake up early to get things ready before the sun gets too high. It keeps us busy from morning until evening. The floor is usually a bit damp and there is always that earthy smell in the air. We’ve learned a lot by just doing it every day. Mistakes happen, like when we forgot to vent the room once, but we keep going. It is a simple life here at number 16. We just focus on the mushrooms and trying to do a decent job with each tray.
