Palikhera Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right here in the village of Palikhera, specifically in the Navganva area of Mathura. Most of the people involved are farmers who have lived in this part of Uttar Pradesh for their whole lives. We didn't want to open a big corporate office in the city, so we just work from where our fields are. Dealing with crops and looking after the land takes up most of our energy. Our operation is very basic. We spend a lot of time checking on the soil and talking about the rain. In Mathura, things can get very busy, but out in our village, life moves at its own pace. We focus on what is growing in our fields and try to find the best way to get it to the market. It isn't always easy and some days are very long, especially when the harvest is ready. We don't have many meetings with suits or fancy presentations. Usually, we just meet up under a tree or in someone's house to decide what we need to do for the next season. It is a real community effort. We all know each other’s families and help out when someone is having a hard time. It feels more like a group of friends working together than a formal company. We just want to keep our farms running and make sure the work gets done properly every day. It's not about making a lot of money, just about making a living.
