Mau Mandao Vegetables Producer Company Limited

We operate out of Devra Lauri. Ambika Prasad Singh is the one who keeps everything running. We mostly focus on vegetables. It is a fast-paced kind of farming because vegetables go bad quickly if you don’t move them. As a producer company, we collect the harvests from various farmers in the Mau Mandao area. Then we try to find the best places to send them. The mornings are usually a bit chaotic. You can hear the sounds of crates being moved and trucks idling before it even gets light outside. We don’t have a fancy cold storage facility. We just use a large shaded area and move fast. Ambika is usually walking around with his clipboard, but he’s more of a talker than a writer. We started this group because we wanted to have more control over our own sales. It isn't a perfect system. Sometimes a truck breaks down on the way to the city or the rain ruins a batch of tomatoes. We just take it in stride. There are no people in suits here. We all wear our everyday clothes and have dirt under our fingernails. We are just a local crew trying to get fresh food to the people. It’s been a few years and we are still learning the ropes of the business side while working the soil.
