Umariya Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based over in Mandsaur, specifically in the Umariya area. The office is at Hitesh Patidar’s place. If you know Mandsaur, you know it’s a big place for farming, and we’re right in the middle of it. The Umariya Farmer Producer Company Limited was set up so we could stop struggling on our own. It’s a pretty basic setup. We meet up, talk about the weather, and try to figure out how to get the best out of our land. Some of us have small plots, others are a bit bigger, but we all face the same problems with costs and transport. The office isn't anything special to look at. It’s just a room with some chairs and a lot of registers. We spend our time checking on the crops and making sure the supplies arrive on time. It gets pretty hectic around here during the harvest, and the office usually turns into a bit of a mess with people coming and going. We don't have a big corporate plan or anything like that. We just try to help each other out with things like fertilizer and finding buyers who won't underpay us. It’s just us, the local farmers, trying to make a living in Umariya. We don't pretend to be anything we’re not. It’s just hard work and a bit of cooperation to keep the farms going for the next generation.
