About Shree Kishan Himghar – Agriculture & Farming in Mandsaur
Shree Kishan Himghar is basically where we spend most of our daylight hours over here at 51, Parvati Sadan Ramtakri. It’s not a fancy setup, just a solid building that does what it’s supposed to do. Mostly we’re busy keeping the temperature right in the cold storage areas. If you walk in, you’ll probably see a few of us arguing over a ledger or checking the gauges on the cooling units. It gets pretty loud when the machinery is humming full tilt, so you have to shout a bit to be heard. Ramtakri is a busy spot, and there’s always someone coming or going with a crate or a delivery note. We’ve had this place for a good while now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but work comes first and the paint can wait. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel heavy, especially during the monsoon months when the trucks get stuck in the mud nearby. We just keep the motors running and make sure nothing spoils. It’s honest work, even if it gets a bit repetitive checking the same thermometers ten times a day. We don't have a big fancy reception area, just a couple of plastic chairs and a desk that’s seen better days. That’s just how it is here. Most of our time goes into the technical side of things and making sure the storage stays cold enough through the night even when the power fluctuates.
