Our place is over in Laduna, Mandsaur, at Bhagwandas Manohardas Bairagi’s spot. It’s a small town feel here, and everybody knows everybody else. We handle the agricultural side of things for the farmers in the Ladoona area. It’s a group effort, really. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment in the office, just the basics to keep track of the grain and the seeds. Most days we are out talking to the growers or checking on the storage. The sun gets really hot out here, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning. We don't put on any acts; we’re just people who know the soil and what it takes to grow something. Sometimes the market goes down and everyone is grumpy, and other times it’s good and there’s a bit of a celebration. We just take it as it comes. It’s a practical life, working with the seasons. We started this to help the local families get more out of their land without having to deal with too many middlemen. It’s just us, the land, and the people we've known for years. We spend a lot of time just sitting on the porch area, discussing the quality of the garlic or the wheat that’s coming in. It’s not always organized, and sometimes we lose a receipt or two, but we always figure it out in the end. It’s about trust more than anything else. We are just simple people trying to make farming work for our town.
