People around Lasalgaon know our spot in New Yashwant Market pretty well by now. We’ve been here at Shubham Hair Cutting Saloon for a while, just doing regular haircuts and shaves for the local guys. It gets busy on weekends, especially when there’s a wedding or some local festival going on in Nashik or Niphad. The shop isn’t fancy, but it gets the job done and we try to keep the chairs moving so nobody has to wait outside for too long. We see a lot of the same faces every few weeks. Some folks come in for a quick trim before work, and others just want a clean shave on their day off. The market is always noisy, which we’re used to after all these years. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us working the scissors and the clippers from morning until we close up at night. It's honest work and we like being part of the neighborhood here. Sometimes the fans are loud and the floor gets covered in hair fast, but that’s just how a barber shop goes. We don't do anything too crazy with styles, mostly just what people ask for so they look decent for whatever they have planned that day. If the power goes out, we just open the door wider for light. We keep a few old newspapers around for people waiting. Nothing fancy, just a mirror and a chair. It’s a simple life here in Tal Niphad and we’re glad to be a small part of it.
