Operating out of the A.P.M.C. Building, room 312 in Gunj Bazar. If you know the market, you know it’s a chaotic place starting from very early in the morning. We’ve been part of this market for a long time. The names on the door are family names. It’s a traditional kind of business. We spend our mornings surrounded by the noise of the auction and the trucks coming in. The office is right in the middle of it all. It’s dusty and loud, but that’s the market life. We don’t have a website or do any of that modern stuff. People know who we are because we’ve been here for decades. We handle the paperwork and the transactions right there at the desk. There’s always someone coming in to chat or settle a bill. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The Gunj Bazar area is where everything happens for us. It’s a hard life sometimes with the long hours, but it’s what we know. We don’t talk about goals or growth much. We just focus on today’s prices and making sure the goods are moving. It’s a hands-on job. We stay until the last of the work is done and the market starts to quiet down for the night. We lock up and head home to get some rest before it all starts again.
