Jayesh Kantilal Guru is located at 100, Market Yard. I’ve been coming here every morning for more years than I can really count. The Market Yard is always a bit of a mess early on with all the trucks and people shouting. My spot at number 100 isn’t fancy at all. We have some old wooden desks and a couple of ceiling fans that make a lot of noise when it gets hot. I usually start the day by opening the shutters and sweeping out the dust from the street. It’s a lot of physical work, honestly. People know us around here because we’ve sat in this same spot for decades. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat or have a quick tea from the stall across the way. We don’t have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s mostly just me and a few others keeping track of things. We write everything down in ledgers and try to stay on top of the orders. The phone rings quite a bit, mostly people asking about prices or when things will arrive. It can be stressful when the yard gets blocked by too many delivery vehicles, but that is just how it is. We do what we can and go home when the sun goes down. There isn't much more to it than that. It's just a regular local business doing its part in the market.
