About Saraswathi High School – Education in Mahabubnagar
Down in Mahbub Nagar, specifically in the Ganjipeta area, you’ll find Saraswathi High School. It’s tucked away in a part of town that’s always moving. There are shops selling grain and household items all around us, so the sounds of the market are part of our day. The school building is an older one, with stairs that are a bit worn down from years of students running up and down them. We don’t have a big grand entrance, just a gate that opens onto the street. In the morning, it’s a bit of a squeeze with cycles and people trying to get through. Inside, the rooms are filled with the usual wooden benches. We try to keep things organized, but in a busy neighborhood like this, there is always something going on outside that catches the kids' attention. The teachers here mostly live nearby, so everyone knows each other’s families. It feels more like a community than a big institution. We have a small courtyard where we do the morning prayers and some light exercises. When it rains, the roof in the old wing sometimes has a small leak, so we just move the desks around it. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s where we work every day. We don't use any fancy technology, just the books and the blackboard. The bell is just an old piece of metal that someone hits with a hammer to let everyone know the period is over. It’s been this way for years.
