Pechi Blue Metals

We’ve been here at 21, Netaji 1St Cross Street for quite a while now. Thirunagar is a busy place and our yard is usually full of blue metals and different sizes of gravel. People come by looking for stuff to finish their driveways or big slabs for building work. It gets pretty dusty when the trucks are moving in and out, but that is just how it goes in this trade. The sun hits the piles of stone in the morning and we start loading up the back of the lorries. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the weights are right on the scale. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small space where we keep the books and talk to the regulars who drop by. Sometimes the neighbors chat while we are working, which makes the day go faster. Most of the folks around here know where we are since we’re right on the corner of the first cross. We deal with all sorts of stone, mostly for local construction around this part of town. It’s simple work really. You need a load of metal, we get it ready for you. There is always someone here at the yard from early morning until the sun goes down. We just keep things moving, making sure the piles stay stocked up so nobody has to wait too long. It is just us and the stone out here every day.
