Yuvaraj Steel Industries

Yuvaraj Steel Industries is located at 346/4 on Madakulam Main Road. If you are driving through Palanganatham, you can’t really miss the sound of metal being cut. We’ve been here quite a while now. The workshop is usually a bit messy with scraps of steel and iron filings on the floor, but that's just the nature of the work. I started this place with just a few tools and a lot of sweat. Now we have a few more machines, but the feeling hasn't changed much. We do a lot of welding and bending. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months in Palanganatham. We don’t have an air-conditioned office or anything like that. We usually just sit on a bench outside when we need a break. Most of our customers are locals who need something fixed or a small frame built for their house. We don't use a lot of big words or fancy brochures. I just tell people what we can do and how long it’ll take. Sometimes we're a day late because a machine breaks down, but we always finish the job eventually. It’s a hard way to earn a living, but it’s steady. We like being part of the neighborhood here. People know they can just walk in and talk to us directly without having to go through a bunch of managers or look at a computer. We’re just regular folks working with steel.
