Old Govt Pre Primary School

If you go down Vaigai Street near St Peter’s Church Road, you’ll find us. We are at 3/384 in the Iyerbungalow area of Madurai. This is an old government building. It has high ceilings and thick walls. It’s seen a lot of children over the years. We don't have the newest equipment or flashy toys. Everything here is simple and functional. The paint is peeling in some spots, but it doesn't bother the kids. They just want a place to play and learn. We open the doors early in the morning. The air is a bit cooler then. We have a few benches and some mats on the floor. Most of our students come from the neighborhood. Their parents work nearby. We’ve been part of this street for a long time. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main roads. We don't have a website or fancy ads. People just know we are here. The teachers are mostly long-time residents. We teach the basics. It’s about social skills and getting used to a classroom. We have a small yard with some trees. It provides a bit of shade in the afternoons. It’s an honest, no-frills school. We do our best with what we have and it seems to work out for everyone involved. Sometimes we run out of chalk or need to fix a window, but we manage. That is just life at an old school.
