Nava Bharath Nursery & Primary School

Nava Bharath Nursery & Primary School is located at 36 Hajiyar Street in Podakkudi. It’s a small school right in the middle of the street. We handle the younger kids, from nursery age up through primary levels. The street itself is usually quite busy with people going about their business. Our building isn't very big, but we use every bit of space we have. Inside, the walls are covered with things the kids have made. We have several small classrooms. Each one is packed with desks and books. The teachers are mostly local women from the neighborhood. It makes for a friendly atmosphere because everyone knows everyone else. In the mornings, you see parents walking their children right to the door. We don't have a big fancy bus or anything, most people just live close enough to walk. During the break times, the noise levels definitely go up. The kids like to play in the hallway or the small open area we have. Podakkudi is a tight-knit place, and we feel like a part of that. We’ve been at this Hajiyar Street address for a long time. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to open all the windows to keep it cool. It’s just the way things are. We aren't a big corporate school, just a local one doing our best for the kids in our town. Every day is a bit different, but we keep to our routine and finish by late afternoon so everyone can get home.
