Famous Metal

Our shop is at Door No. 6 on Laxmipuram 5th Street. We are very close to the Chindamani Theater, so that’s usually how people find us. It’s a noisy part of town, especially when a movie is letting out, but we are used to the commotion. We deal with metal here. It’s heavy work and our hands are usually dirty by the end of the day. The shop is filled with all kinds of metal pieces, some new and some that look like they’ve been around for decades. We don’t have a showroom or anything fancy. You just walk in off the street and tell us what you’re looking for or what you’ve brought in. It’s a small space, so it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock. We work on the floor mostly, cutting or sorting whatever needs to be done. We’ve been in this street for a long time, and the neighbors all know us. We don’t bother with big ads or anything like that. People just know the metal shop near the theater. Sometimes we sit out front on a bench when it’s quiet, just watching the people go by. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We just take the metal as it comes and try to keep the shop running as best we can. There is always a lot of clanging and banging, but we don't mind it much.
