You can find us at Dhanayanthi Illam 14, right on the K.K. Nagar Main Road. It’s usually pretty easy to spot because of the smell of fresh greens and wet stems. We spend most of our mornings unpacking crates and trimming leaves. There are usually buckets of water everywhere and snippets of wire on the floor. It’s not a very tidy place, but that’s what happens when you work with plants all day. We get our shipments in early, often while the sun is barely up, so we’re usually on our third cup of tea by the time most people are starting their day. We don’t have a big showroom; it’s more like a workshop where we put things together. Sometimes it’s a bit frantic when there’s a lot to do, and other times it’s just us sitting around the table prepping the next batch. The humidity in here is high to keep things from wilting, so it feels a bit different than the street outside. We’ve been here for a while and the people in the neighborhood know us as the place that’s always got petals on the sidewalk. We just do the work, handle the orders, and try to make sure the flowers stay fresh until they leave. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and cold water on your hands, but we like it well enough. We keep a few old fans running to circulate the air and someone usually brings in snacks.
