S. Kumar Stores

S. Kumar Stores is located right in the middle of Karimpura Bajar in Field Ganj. If you've ever been to this market, you know how loud and crowded it gets. There are cycles and carts everywhere, and people shouting their prices. We are just one of the many shops lining the street. We sell a bit of everything that people in the neighborhood might need for their homes. It’s a small shop, so we have to stack things all the way up to the ceiling to make it all fit. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer wants, but we usually get there. We don't have any fancy displays or air conditioning. It gets hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going and just keep working. Most of our customers are people who have lived in Field Ganj their whole lives. We know their names and what they usually buy. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't bother with much advertising because everyone around here already knows where we are. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night. It is a lot of standing and talking, but it’s a good way to spend the day. We aren't looking to change much about how we operate because this way has worked for a long time. It is just a simple life running a shop in the bazaar and we enjoy it.
