Goodwill Supermarkets

Our store is at 373-R in Model Town. It’s a neighborhood spot, so most of the people who come in are folks who live just a few streets away. We spend a lot of our time just restocking the shelves and making sure the dairy section is cold. It isn't one of those massive supermarkets where you get lost in the aisles. It is small enough that we recognize most of our regulars and know what they usually buy. The morning starts early when the bread and milk deliveries arrive. Then it’s a bit of a rush before people head to work. The rest of the day is a mix of quiet moments and then suddenly having five people in line at the register. We try to keep the place organized, but with boxes coming in and out, there is usually a stack of cardboard somewhere in the back. The floor gets a lot of wear and tear from the carts and the foot traffic. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything. We just wear what’s comfortable for moving heavy crates around. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble to get the generator running for the freezers. That’s just part of running a shop in this area. We’ve been here in Model Town for quite a while now and we’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy groceries for their own families.
