Our office is situated in Shiv Colony, which is very close to the main bus stand in Jind, Haryana. Because of where we are, there is always a lot of movement. You see people carrying heavy bags and looking at their watches as they head toward the buses. We are in a simple building that doesn't stand out much from the others on the street. Inside, we have a couple of desks and some chairs for people to sit on while we talk about their travel plans. It can get a bit loud when the big buses start their engines nearby, but we’ve grown used to it over time. We keep a stack of timetables and some maps on the wall, though they are a bit faded now. The floor is just plain tile that we sweep every morning. We get people coming in from all over the area, some looking for a quick ticket and others wanting to plan a longer trip. It’s a very straightforward place. We don’t have any big posters or bright lights. Most of our day is spent on the phone or typing on the keyboard. In the winter, we keep a small heater by our feet because it gets quite cold in Haryana. We are just a local spot where people can come to get their travel sorted out without any fuss. It’s been our home for a while now and we know the bus drivers too.
