Being at Civil Line 94 is quite a change of pace from some of the other parts of town. This area has a bit of history to it, and you can feel that when you walk down the street. My office is right in the middle of it all. It’s a functional space where I handle my legal work. I don't go in for any of that modern, minimalist decor you see in the new buildings. I’ve got my shelves full of legal volumes and a cabinet that is slowly running out of room for more folders. My daily routine involves a lot of reading and sometimes a lot of waiting for calls to go through to the court offices. People come to me when they have problems they can't solve on their own. I listen, take notes, and tell them what the law says about it. I try to be as plain as possible because legal talk can get confusing for everyone involved. It’s a one-man show mostly, so I do a lot of the typing and filing myself. It keeps me close to the cases. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the weather is bad, but we manage to keep working. It’s an honest living, and I take pride in making sure the paperwork is done correctly the first time. If you’re looking for a place where you can just sit down and talk through a problem, this is it. It is just me and my books.
