Indian Bank

This branch of Indian Bank is right on the GT Road in the Bhoura area of Ludhiana. If you know that stretch of road, you know how loud the trucks can be all day long. Satinder Kumar is the assistant manager here and he’s usually at his desk near the back. Punjab gets really hot in the summer months so we try to keep the fans going. It’s a busy spot because of the highway location. People driving through often stop by, plus the locals from Bhoura who have been with us for years. The office is pretty basic. We have the usual counters and a few chairs for people waiting. Sometimes the tea man comes by in the afternoon which is a nice break. Being on GT Road means there is always something happening outside. We don’t really have a big fancy lobby, just enough room to get the work done. Satinder keeps things moving even when it gets crowded on Mondays. It’s a typical Ludhiana workspace, a bit dusty from the road traffic but we keep it as clean as we can. Everyone knows each other here. We deal with a lot of agricultural accounts because of the location. It’s just the way things are in this part of India. The hours go by fast when there are a lot of customers. It’s not a quiet job but it’s steady work for all of us at the branch.
