Our place is at 996 Chander Nagar in the Civil Lines area of Ludhiana. This part of town has a lot of history, and you can see it in the older houses and the tall trees around us. The building we’re in is a bit aging, with some cracks in the plaster and stairs that are slightly uneven if you aren't looking where you step. Ludhiana gets incredibly hot during the peak of summer, so our old air conditioner is always humming loudly in the corner, trying its best to keep the room bearable. We’ve got stacks of paper everywhere and the smell of old ink is pretty much baked into the walls at this point. It’s a busy spot because Chander Nagar always has something going on with scooters buzzing by and people shouting greetings across the street. We don’t have a fancy lobby, just a small area where a few people can wait if they don't mind the cramped space. The floor is made of that old-fashioned mosaic tile that has gone a bit dull over the years. Most of our day is spent handling local accounts and chatting with the shopkeepers from nearby who drop in to finish their daily tasks. It’s not a polished environment by any means, but it has got a lot of character. We usually have a plate of biscuits somewhere on a desk, and there is always a bit of chaos during the peak hours. It is just how we operate.
