Decent Public School

We have been operating here in Basti Jodhewal for quite some time now. It’s a busy corner of Ludhiana and you can always hear the traffic outside our gates. Our building is a simple one. Inside, we have rows of wooden desks that have seen many students over the years. The morning routine starts early when the gates open and the kids start trickling in. Some look sleepy while others are running around before the first bell. We have a small playground where they spend their breaks. It gets quite dusty when they all run at once. The classrooms have basic fans and blackboards. Our teachers are mostly people from the local neighborhood who walk or take a rickshaw to get here. We don't have fancy stuff like air conditioning in every room, but we manage. In the summers, Ludhiana gets very hot, so we try to keep the kids hydrated. We have a small office where we keep the registers and files. It’s a bit cluttered with papers and old textbooks. Parents come in to talk about their kids' progress or to pay the fees. We just try to keep things organized and make sure the children are learning their lessons. It’s a regular school life here. We don't make big promises or use big words. We just show up every morning, ring the bell, and start the day. That’s how we have always done things in this part of town.
