Bhatia Electronics

Bhatia Electronics has been on Rahon Road Street No 6 in Attal Nagar for as long as I can remember. The shop is pretty much a collection of half-fixed televisions, old radios, and piles of wires. It’s a bit of a maze back there in the storage area. We spend our days troubleshooting why someone’s appliance stopped working. Street No 6 is a bit narrow, so the traffic outside is constant and the horns never seem to stop. It’s just the two of us working here. We don't have any formal uniform or corporate rules. We just show up and start working on whatever is on the bench. Sometimes a repair takes much longer than we thought because we can’t find the right part, and that can be frustrating for us and the customers. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory; it’s all just written down in a big book. Attal Nagar is a solid place to be, and we have many regulars who have been coming to us for decades. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but we have everything we need to get the job done. It’s a lot of sitting and squinting at small components under a lamp. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the neighbors' electronics running. It gets a bit overwhelming when the shop is full of broken stuff, but we eventually get through the pile.
