The Directorate Of Animal Husbandry for the Government of Uttar Pradesh is located in Badshahbagh. It is a government office, so it has that specific feel to it. There are lots of files, old wooden desks, and people coming in and out with various requests. Badshahbagh is an older part of the city with its own character. We deal with everything related to livestock and animal welfare in the state. It is a big responsibility, but the day-to-day work is mostly administrative. We spend a lot of time reviewing reports and handling the paperwork that comes from different districts. The building itself has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. There are usually several people waiting in the corridors to get papers signed. It can be a bit slow moving sometimes because of how many rules we have to follow. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just focus on the tasks assigned to us by the department. Most of us have been working here for years and know the routines inside out. It is a busy place, especially when new policies are being implemented. We just try to keep the records straight and help out where we can within the government framework. It is just a regular government office doing the work that needs to be done for the community. No more, no less. We keep our tea kettle running almost all day long because someone is always needing a break from the typing.
