Co-Operative Marketing Federation

Our office is at 18-B Ashok Marg, inside the U.P. State Horticulture area. This is where the Co-Operative Marketing Federation does its thing. It’s an older building with high ceilings and a lot of old wooden desks. We spend a lot of time talking to farmers and people from different districts who come in to discuss their crops. There’s always a lot of files moving around and people waiting in the halls. It’s not a fast-paced environment, but there’s always something to be done. We focus on the marketing side of things, trying to help move products from the fields to the markets. It involves a lot of meetings and even more paperwork. The atmosphere is pretty formal but in a worn-out kind of way. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age a bit. We don’t use much modern technology except for the basics. Most of the real work happens through conversations and handwritten notes. Ashok Marg is a busy road, so there’s always the sound of horns outside, but inside we just keep on with the records. We aren’t here to make a big show of things. We just provide a place for the federation to organize and get the horticulture products where they need to go. It's mostly about keeping the files straight and helping people where we can.
