A. S. Karigari

A. S. Karigari is based at 92/186, Teerath, which is inside Leela Bhawan on G. B. Marg. We’ve been working out of this space for quite some time now. The name "Karigari" implies the kind of handiwork we do. It’s a lot of detailed stuff. Our workshop isn't very big, and it’s usually quite full of materials and tools. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If you come by, you’ll probably see us right in the middle of a project. The lighting is bright because we need to see the fine details. G. B. Marg can be a bit crowded, but we like being in this part of the city. There’s a lot of history here. We don't spend money on big ads. Most of our work comes from people who have seen what we’ve made for others. It’s a slow process sometimes, because you can't rush this kind of work. We have a few skilled people who have been with us for a long time. We treat each other like family. Some days we stay late to finish something important. It’s just the way it goes when you’re making things by hand. We aren't corporate at all. We just care about the items we produce and making sure they look right. It’s simple, honest work that we enjoy doing every day. Even when it’s hot or noisy outside, we just focus on the task in front of us. It’s what we know how to do best.
