We are over here at the SDPP E&I department for Jindal Saw Ltd in Samaghogha. It gets pretty hot out here in Mundra, especially when the wind picks up off the coast and brings that salt air with it. Most of the guys in this unit spend their days looking at wires and control panels. We aren’t really much for sitting in air-conditioned offices all day because there is always something that needs checking out on the floor. The Kutch region is a tough place to work sometimes, but you get used to the dust. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming in and out of the IPU area constantly. We just try to keep things running. Someone has to make sure the electrical systems don't act up. It’s not a fancy job, and we don't spend a lot of time talking about what we do, we just do it. Usually, we take our breaks together and talk about the local news or what's for lunch. If you come by this part of Mundra, you'll see it’s all industrial, but there’s a rhythm to it once you’ve been here a few years. We've been at this address for a while now, and the routine hasn't changed much. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the instruments are reading right. We aren't trying to impress anyone, just doing the shift and heading home.
