We work at the Integrated Pipe Unit over in Samaghoga. It’s a big area in Mundra, Kutch. Most people just call it the IPU. It’s not the kind of place you’d visit for fun, but it’s where we do our daily work. There are pipes everywhere and lots of heavy equipment. Our office is right in the middle of it all. It gets loud and it’s often quite hot, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a fancy lobby or any air-conditioned waiting rooms. It’s just a workspace. We spend a lot of time checking numbers and making sure everything is where it should be. Kutch is a rugged place, and our setup reflects that. We aren't here to look pretty; we are here to get the job done. The staff is mostly local or people who moved here for the work. We eat our lunch together and talk about regular stuff. We don't use big corporate talk. We just say what needs to be said. If a pipe needs moving or a form needs signing, we just do it. That’s how life goes at the Samaghoga unit. It’s a lot of hard work and not much glory, but it’s what we do. We keep things moving as best as we can. Even when the dust gets thick, we just keep going about our business. It's a long day usually, but we make it work. We head home when the shift is over.
