Ifgl Refractories Ltd.

I’ve been working at this plant in the Kandla Special Economic Zone for a while now. We are located at Plot No-.638-644, which is a pretty large space in the New Area section of the zone. It’s a very industrial place to work, surrounded by other big companies and lots of shipping containers. We deal with refractories, which basically means materials that can stand a lot of heat without melting or breaking. It’s not the kind of stuff you see in a normal shop. Most of our work involves big industrial furnaces and heavy equipment. The air is always a bit salty because we are so close to the port here in Kandla. It’s a busy environment with trucks coming and going at all hours. We have a lot of people working here in different shifts to keep things running. It’s not like a small village shop where you can sit and chat all day with friends. We have to be very careful with the safety rules and the machinery. I spend most of my time on the floor making sure the supplies are where they need to be. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything for visitors. It’s just a place where hard work gets done. The sun gets really hot out here in the open area, so we are always glad for the shade inside the warehouse. We’ve been here for several years and it’s just our daily routine.
