We have been based out of Bunglow No-4 on Plot 418 for quite some time now. It is a quiet corner in Vandana Society, right off Rambag Road in Adipur-Kutch. Working with steel in this part of Gujarat means we deal with a lot of heat and dust every single day. The office itself is just a regular bungalow where we keep all the records and talk to people about their orders. It is not a shiny corporate building with a glass front. Most of us have lived around Ward-3/B for years, so we are used to the local pace. The yard can get pretty busy when the trucks arrive, and we spend a lot of time checking the inventory under the sun. It is honest, practical work that keeps us busy from morning until evening. Sometimes the phones are ringing non-stop and other times we just sit and listen to the ceiling fan while we wait for the next delivery. We don’t do anything too fancy here, just basic industrial stuff. The neighborhood has changed a bit over the years, but we just keep doing what we do. If you walk down the road, you will see our sign. We try to keep things simple and get the steel where it needs to go without much fuss. It is just a few of us making sure everything moves along. The afternoon sun really hits the front gate hard, but that’s just life in Kutch.
