Down on Rayakottai Road in Bharathidasan Nagar, you will find our building. Even though the sign says Praveen Engineering India Pvt Ltd, we are really just a group of people who know their way around an engineering shop. The road outside stays pretty busy with commuters, but once you step inside our gates, it is all about the work at hand. We have several rows of machines and a lot of space that we try to keep organized, though by Wednesday, there are usually parts and drawings scattered everywhere. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we have some big fans that help keep the air moving when it gets humid. Most of the staff have been here for years, so we don't need to talk much to know what needs to be done next. We take our lunches together in the small break area, usually sharing whatever was brought from home. It is a quiet kind of place, except for the hum of the electricity and the occasional clanging of metal. We don't spend money on fancy signs or glossy brochures because we’d rather put that into keeping our equipment in good shape. If someone walks in looking for us, they usually find us in the back, checking measurements or loading up a delivery. It is a practical business run by practical people who don't see the point in making things more complicated than they need to be. We just open up, do the jobs, and go home to our families.
