Ibrahim Engineering Works

Our workshop is located on V. Kotta Road in Pernambut. It’s a straightforward engineering shop where the sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much constant from morning until evening. We have been here on this road for a long time. The entrance is wide enough to bring in heavy pieces of machinery, which we do quite often. The floor is covered in metal shavings and oil, no matter how much we sweep it up. It’s a place for hard work. We don't have an office with a view or anything like that. Just a small corner with a stool and a ledger where we keep track of the jobs coming in. Pernambut can get very hot, so the high ceilings of our shed are a necessity to keep the air moving. We use heavy-duty lathes and welding machines that have been with us for years. They are loud and old, but they work better than some of the newer stuff we’ve seen. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so we are all familiar with each other’s families and stories. Lunch is usually a quick affair, eaten sitting on some spare crates near the back door. We don't use much technology here other than what’s needed for the engineering itself. If you come by, you’ll likely find us covered in soot or holding a wrench. It’s honest labor, and that’s about all there is to say about us.
