Down in Uttangarai, you will find us right there in the Krishnagiri district. The school has been part of this landscape for quite some time now. It isn't a massive complex, but it is big enough for the kids who live around here. We handle the higher secondary levels, so things get a bit more serious as the students get older and start thinking about their futures. Most of our staff live nearby, so we are all very much part of the local scene. You might see us at the market or walking to work in the mornings. The school building is simple, painted a plain color, and looks like most of the other buildings on the street. We do not spend much time on fancy decorations or big speeches. Our days are filled with lesson plans and checking notebooks. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows wider to let the breeze in from outside. It is a practical way of living. Parents drop their kids off early, and we are there to meet them at the entrance. We have seen many brothers and sisters come through the same classrooms over the years. It feels like we are just part of the furniture in Uttangarai now. We do not try to be the most modern place around, we just try to be a place that stays open and does what it is supposed to do for the families here.
