Government Medical College

Located in Gandhi Nagar, Arpookara, this medical college is a pretty large operation. It’s a government-run spot, so you can imagine it gets very crowded most days of the week. People come from all over the district because this is where the main medical services are. The hallways are usually packed with patients, families, and students in white coats rushing somewhere. It’s a bit of a maze if you’re new. We have old buildings that have seen better days, but they are still standing and full of activity. You can hear the sounds of the town outside, but once you’re deep in the wards, it’s its own world. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations or quiet waiting rooms. It’s practical and sometimes a bit messy, but that’s the reality of a busy public hospital and college. The staff works long shifts, and you’ll often see them grabbing a snack at the local canteens near the entrance. Arpookara is a decent area, though traffic can be a headache during peak hours. We’ve been a fixture here for a long time. It’s not always easy, but the work gets done. Students learn by doing, and there is always something happening. You just get used to the pace after a while. It’s a big, noisy, important place for everyone living around here. There is no point in pretending it's a quiet library because it simply isn't that kind of place.
