Tegore Bal Vidhya Niketan School

Tegore Bal Vidhya Niketan School is at number 77 in Anantpura, which is part of Kota. Rajasthan is known for its heat, and our school building definitely feels it in the summer. We have a lot of windows to try and get some air moving through the classrooms. The address is pretty easy to find once you are in the Anantpura area. We have been operating here for quite a while, and the building shows its age in some of the cracks in the plaster. Every morning we start with a simple assembly in the front yard. The kids bring their own water bottles and bags, and the place fills up with noise until the first bell rings. We have a small library that’s a bit cramped, but it has the books the students need. The teachers often stay back after the kids leave to grade papers and talk about who is struggling with their lessons. We don't use much technology here; it’s mostly just books, pens, and paper. The playground is mostly dirt, so the kids come back inside with dusty shoes after their break. We have a few trees planted near the boundary wall that provide a little bit of shade during the hottest part of the day. It’s a basic school where we just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the building stays in one piece. We focus on the basics and keep things moving.
