D.R Rajendra Prasad Sec. School

D.R Rajendra Prasad Sec. School is situated in Prem Nagar First, along the Govind Nagar Road in the Kansua area of Kota. Kota is famous for its coaching centers, but we are a regular secondary school for the local families living here. The neighborhood of Kansua is quite busy with narrow streets and lots of local shops nearby. Our school building isn’t very large, but it has enough room for the different grades. The walls are painted a simple color and there’s usually some student artwork pinned up in the hallways. In the mornings, you can see kids in their uniforms walking down Govind Nagar Road to get to the gate. The playground is a bit small, so the students have to take turns during the recess. It gets incredibly hot in Rajasthan, so we have big coolers running in the halls when it’s summer. The teachers here have been around for years and they know most of the families in Prem Nagar. It’s a very grounded place where the focus is just on finishing the daily lessons and getting through the syllabus. We don’t have fancy technology in every room, just the basic stuff that works. The school bell is an old manual one that someone has to hit with a hammer. It’s a normal, everyday school for the kids in this part of Kota, and we just keep it running year after year.
