Our place is in Vigyan Nagar. It is a bit of a mix because we do beauty treatments and also teach people how to do them. The main room has three big mirrors and some chairs that pump up and down. We have a lot of bottles of shampoo and lotions lined up on the shelves. The smell of hairspray and wax is pretty much always there. Students come in during the afternoons to practice on each other. You will see someone getting their hair curled while someone else is learning how to do a facial. It gets a bit loud with all the talking and the sound of the hair dryer. We have a small sink for washing hair which sometimes leaks a little bit. We just put a towel under it. The floor is mostly covered in hair clippings that we sweep up every hour. People from the neighborhood come by for simple things like getting their eyebrows done. We don't have a big fancy sign, just a basic one so people know where we are. It is a practical space where we work and teach. Sometimes we run out of clean towels and have to wait for the laundry to dry. That is just how a local business runs. We try to make sure the students learn the right way to hold the tools. It takes a lot of patience to teach someone how to do threading properly.
