In the middle of the Nayapura area, we have Maha Laxmi Mobile. It is a small place where we sell budget phones and try to fix the ones that people accidentally drop. Most of my day is spent looking through a magnifying glass at tiny circuit boards or trying to peel off old, cracked screen protectors without cutting my fingers. It is very finicky work and it can be quite frustrating when the spare parts don't fit exactly right. We also sell phone recharges and those little plastic cases that everyone seems to want these days. The shop is always a bit noisy because we have the radio playing in the background or there are people coming in to ask why their battery is dying so fast. Nayapura is a very busy area, so there is always someone walking in with a question or a broken device. We have boxes of old cables, dead batteries, and chargers shoved under the counter. Sometimes it feels like we are completely drowning in wires and electronic scrap. We aren't a big showroom with glass floors and air conditioning. It is just a simple counter, some stools for the customers, and a lot of small tools. We try to be honest with people about what can actually be fixed and what is just ready for the bin. People trust us because we have been here in the same spot for years now. It is a decent way to make a living, even if my eyes get tired.
