Operating out of Chhabra District Centre, my shop Aanandam Electronics is where I deal with all sorts of gadgets and appliances. It’s located at A 23, which isn't hard to find once you are in the center. I have different kinds of televisions and refrigerators lined up along the walls. The boxes take up quite a bit of space, making the aisles a bit narrow. I spend a lot of my time talking to people about which model would suit their house best. I'm not a big talker, but I know my way around a circuit. When someone brings in a broken radio or a mixer, I take it to the back bench to see if it can be saved. The cooling in the shop isn't the best because of the big windows, so it gets warm in the afternoons. I've been doing this for several years now, and I've seen brands come and go. I try to keep the prices at a level that isn't too high because everyone around here knows each other. Some days I’m just busy untangling wires or updating the price tags. It’s a lot of small tasks that fill up the day. The district center gets quite crowded on weekends, but I prefer the quieter weekdays. It’s a steady kind of life, and I’m glad to be part of the local market here. I'll probably be here until my eyes give out.
