It’s been a while since we opened up here in Gumanpura. People mostly come in because they dropped their phone and the screen is a mess or it won't charge right. My desk is usually covered in tiny screws and tools that I’ve had for years. It's a small shop but it stays busy because phones are always breaking. I remember when we first started, things were simpler, but now every new model is different inside. We spend most of our day sitting under these bright lights, trying to see the small parts clearly. Sometimes the parts don't arrive on time and that's frustrating for everyone, but we just do what we can. It’s a bit noisy out there on the street, especially in the evenings when everyone is out. We don’t have fancy chairs for people to wait in, just a couple of stools near the counter. Most folks around here know where we are. We see the same faces every few months when someone else in their family breaks a glass. It isn't a glamorous job, getting glue on your fingers and squinting at motherboards all day. But it's what we know how to do. Gumanpura is a good spot for us, close to everything. We keep the doors open even when it’s hot, just to let the air move through. It’s just a regular place where we try to get things working again for the people who come in.
