Jai Kamani House

Over at Transport Nagar on the Gobriya Baodi Road, things are usually loud and a bit dirty. That is where you will find Jai Kamani House. We deal with the leaf springs and suspension parts for the heavy trucks that roll through this part of town. My clothes are almost always stained with black oil or grease, and there is usually a thin layer of metal dust on everything in the shop. It is very heavy work. We spend the whole day hammering, bolting, and fixing parts so the transporters can get back on the road and finish their deliveries. The heat in the metal shed can get pretty intense during the summer months, especially with all the iron lying around. We don't have any fancy waiting room for the customers who come by. They usually just stand around the entrance or sit on a rickety wooden bench while we work on their vehicles. There are old, rusted parts piled up in the corners and various tools scattered across the greasy workbenches. We know the sound of a bad suspension from a mile away just by listening to the trucks pass. Transport Nagar is a tough place to work, and we have been a part of it for a long time. It is not the kind of job you do if you want to stay clean and comfortable. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the work finished. The road outside is always full of smoke and big tires.
