If you head down Bus Stand Road in Koppal, you will find us over by the Horticulture Department building. We share some space there. This federation was started to help out with the guava growers in this part of the district. Koppal has some good land for fruit, but getting things to market is always the tricky part. We aren't a big company with a lot of suits. Most of us are just people who know a lot about fruit and farming. We work with the local growers to see how we can manage the agri products better. Sometimes it’s about storage, other times it’s just about finding where to send the crates. Guavas are our main thing, but we look at other crops too. It gets pretty hot here, so we have to move fast once the fruit is ripe. Our office is easy to find if you know where the Deputy Director stays. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out at the orchards checking on the trees. It’s a practical way to run things. We started this because doing it alone wasn't working for everyone. Now we have a name, Koppal Guava Fruits And Agri Products Federation, which helps when we deal with official business. It’s just us local folks trying to keep the farming business going in Koppal.
